Welcome.
I am here to support you in finding solutions to your distress. My goal is to offer the chance to explore life's challenges, thereby enabling you to move forward, motivating change, reducing confusion, and managing difficult emotions.
Drawing from personal experience, I recognize the challenge of seeking appropriate help and support during overwhelming times. As an Integrative Counsellor / Psychotherapist I employ a variety of therapeutic approaches, informed by a deep understanding of trauma and the complexities of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. This includes the intricate aspects of diagnosis, as well as fostering awareness and education about the disorder. I emphasize the concept of Post-Traumatic Growth, which encompasses positive changes following trauma, such as a renewed appreciation for life, improved relationships, new beginnings, personal fortitude, and spiritual transformation. My extensive experience spans various client issues and settings, including domestic abuse, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, anger management, and the unique challenges faced by military and uniformed personnel in high-risk situations. My tailored approach has consistently proven effective in meeting the individual needs of my clients.
About Me.
I am a registered Counsellor/Psychotherapist with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their ethical codes of practice at all times. I consistently attend online career development workshops and focus on personal growth to ensure the highest quality of service to my clients.I have addressed a broad spectrum of client issues in diverse settings, including a charity-funded family support centre focusing on domestic abuse, sexual assault, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and anger management. I have led initiatives on complex cases and those diagnosed with PTSD, tailoring my approach to meet each client's unique needs effectively.
Over the years, I have dedicated my time to gaining invaluable experience through volunteer work in various capacities, such as a caseworker for a major veterans charity, including prison in-reach, aiding those undergoing hardship, and as an employment advisor for individuals with disabilities facing employment challenges. As a vascular peer support volunteer at Leeds General Infirmary, I have had the chance to offer guidance based on my own journey as an amputee, supporting others pre and post-amputation during their recovery process.
I possess a keen interest in assisting individuals from uniformed services, such as military veterans, prison staff, police, and other emergency services personnel. Having served 9 years in HM Armed Forces as an infantry soldier, I have a deep understanding of the military ethos, the challenges of working in high-risk environments, and the psychological effects that can impact service members and their families during and after service.
My approach.
As an integrative counsellor, I am qualified in a number of therapeutic approaches. This enables me to collaborate closely with you, utilizing a variety of theoretical models to customize my approach and concentrate on solutions that are client-based.
I provide a secure space, accessible online or via telephone, offering sincere and empathetic sessions focused on the client. In these sessions, we can start to unravel the issues that you, the client, wish to address.
My work is client-supportive, and I am flexible in adapting to meet your needs. Whether you seek a solution-focused approach or prefer a more relaxed and open-ended exploration of your issues, we will progress at a pace that is comfortable for you
